This course is designed to give the student an overview of the Bible, an introduction to the book itself. The intent is to familiarize the student with the order of the individual books of the Bible, the arrangement of the books into sections, the historical and cultural contexts of each book, and introduction to main themes of the Bible.
A first course in methods of Bible Interpretation. We will examine Bible Research tools, literature types found in the Bible and guidelines for studying each type, and how all of this can help us become better disciples.
By participating in this class, students will…
- Identify the tools required for to gain an accurate understanding of scripture.
- Demonstrate a basic knowledge of the Bible, it’s structure origin
- Develop confidence to be able to use the skills, tools and knowledge to begin to apply principles of Biblical interpretation
